THE BEST!!! We chose the Nickley group based on the reviews that we read, and all of those reviews were spot on. Every person that we dealt with from the initial call, to the closing, were so professional. Shaun was professional, witty, knowledgeable and could think on his feet and we would recommend him to anyone. The listing on the MLS made us think we didn't want to sell it, the photos were amazing, and we had 2 showings the day it posted, so obviously, the photographer knows what he's doing. The Nickley Group seemed a bit "green" as a realty company. I am not really angry because our realtor might have been fairly new.. I suspected as much going into this relationship, but I wanted to give the realtor a shot. And, I would probably use him again despite some missteps that caused extra stress. Our realtor showed me only two homes, which was enough because we bought one of the two very quickly. He showed a good knowledge of what we wanted. He also was always on time and mostly replied when he said he would (not always). That said, I feel like our closing date should have been nailed down earlier. It was extremely stressful because of that. We were led to believe we would close on two different occasions. One date was verbal, and the other was on paper. We missed both. We had a trip scheduled for Europe, from which my husband was going to stay behind. My husband would have been needed because we were supposed to close while we were supposed to also be on vacation. Thankfully, we went with our gut and disregarded the closing date because we knew that we would miss the closing date and have to postpone. i really wish Rafael had known this too. If we had listened to our realtor and the closing agent, my husband would have stayed behind for no reason because we missed that date, as I expected (and this was with a lot of extra time built in). Also, for the closing date that we finally did meet, I am certain we almost missed that date too were it not for my intervention. i had to get on the phone with the City of Sanford to find out exactly what the hold up was. Our realtor said they were "dragging their feet". Not exactly. The City was actually surprisingly responsive. What the city shared with me was not what the selling agent and our realtor shared with me. I provided them both with a bulleted list of what was outstanding at the City (via Email),, and instructed them to get to the City to submit it. I was told by the City that if the realtors provided what was outstanding by 2PM that particular day, the City promised to provide what we needed to close. The realtors came through before 2 PM, and so did the city. This is not an example of the City dragging its feet.. What irked me the most is that the missing documents were items that the realtors already had possession of. There was no extra work to do. We had these documents. I feel like more leg work and an understanding of what was needed is necessary from the realtors. All in all, a I said, I would probably have no problem using our particular realtor again. He was good enough this time around. I know he is probably new, and this was a learning experience. I know for a fact if he runs into this problem again, he will change his course of action. As for me, I went through a bad buying purchase before, so I had a sense when something was amiss, and maybe he didnt have that perspective. But, I am confident we would not have closed without my involvement, and I wish that was something that had more involvement from the realtors.
